FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is my credit card and other personal information secure?

Yes, our course website uses a secure server with advanced encryption technology to keep your personal information private.  Our course website's SSL software completely encrypts the information you input so that it cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system.  We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information.

What are the payment options for an online course?

For your convenience, payment may be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or a debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo.  You may also pay with your checking account by electronic check.

What is the difference between a Sales Associate and a Brokers License?

A Sales Associate license is for the student who has not previously held a real estate license. You can obtain a Sales Associate license without prior "experience", but to obtain a Broker's license you must have been actively licensed for at least 12 months within the last 5 years. With a Sales Associate license, you must work under a Broker or owner-developer (such as a home builder).  As a Sales Associate you cannot perform services of real estate without your license being registered with a Broker or owner-developer.  As a Broker, you could operate your own brokerage business without being required to register your license under someone else.  The vast majority of real estate professionals are licensed only as a Sales Associate and prefer to simply "hang" their license under a Broker.

When should I submit my state application?

You can submit your state application at anytime - before, during, or after taking the pre-license course.  Typically, it takes around 30 to 45 days for the state to process your application, but can take longer (the state legally has 90 days). Ideally, you should take the state exam shortly after completing the pre-licensing course, while the material is "fresh" in your mind.  If your course takes about 30 days to complete, you may want to submit your application just before or at the start of your class.

How do I submit my application?

The state application can be downloaded from the website of the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).  You can partially submit your application online, or simply print and mail the entire application to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  If you want to submit your application online from the DBPR's website, only part of it can be done online as the DBPR requires you to mail in the portion of the application that must be signed and notarized.  You must also submit a completed fingerprint card as part of your application (the DBPR will mail you a blank fingerprint card).  To complete the fingerprint card, simply call your local police station and find out what day and time they provide fingerprinting service - most local police stations will take your fingerprints and assist in properly completing the card.
