SCHOOL POLICY

NOTICE TO STUDENTS

All questions pertaining to registration, refunds, school policy, course content, explanation of state licensing law, final exams, and course completion certificates should be addressed to Apex Real Estate Academy of Florida at 1-800-959-2506 or by email at service@areafl.com.

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY

There is no refund available for online courses. 

COURSE EXPIRATION AND REVIEW

Access to your online course is good for one year.  All course lessons and the final exam must be completed within 1 year from the date of enrollment. 

EXAMINATION AND GRADING POLICY

An end-of-course exam is required for the course you are taking.  In order to successfully complete your online course you must pass the final exam at the end of the course with a minimum score of 70%.  Once you have started the final exam, you must complete it one sitting.  You cannot close out and return to it, or use the back button to go back.  If you exit the exam prior to fully completing it, or if fail the exam, you must wait thirty (30) days to take the exam again. The exam is timed and you will have three hours to complete it.  If you fail the final exam, you are allowed one opportunity to re-test without having to repeat the course; however, you have to wait at least 30 days (but no more than one year) from the date of original examination before re-testing.  Should you fail the re-take exam, you must re-register and repeat the course from the beginning before taking the final exam again.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE

Please refer to the directions on our course home page for specific instruction regarding the completion of your course and the “Introduction” lesson located at the beginning of each course.  To complete the course and receive your Completion Certificate, you must successfully complete the following requirements: 

·         Complete all instructional lessons in the course by answering each question correctly at least twice.

·         Complete and pass a timed online final exam.

·         Return a signed and dated Student Affidavit to Apex when the course is complete.  The Student Affidavit is a signed document from you certifying that you have personally completed each assigned lesson of instruction.  This affidavit must be return to Apex before you can receive credit for your course.  A “Student Affidavit” link will appear on your course home page upon completion of the course.  Click on that link to obtain a copy of the Student Affidavit.

·         Upon receipt of your signed and dated Student Affidavit, Apex will issue your Course Completion Certificate and mail it to you.  Please plan for sufficient time for the Completion Certificate to arrive in the mail (generally three to four days).  The signed and dated affidavit must be sent to Apex by mail at 2202 North Westshore Blvd, Suite 200, Tampa, FL 33607 or by fax at 270-573-3969 before you can receive credit for a distance learning course.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

For technical assistance, please call Technical Support at 1-888-213-5124.  Technical Support is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST and on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.  Holidays are the exception to this schedule. 

If you call Technical Support, please be prepared to explain your problem in detail and have access to your computer.  In order to effectively troubleshoot your issue, our technicians begin the call by asking you a series of questions regarding your operating equipment.  We will need to know what type of computer you are using, the operating system you are using, the version number of your software, etc.  Your call may be documented or monitored to help up maintain quality of service standards. 

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 

In order to take this distance education course, your computer must meet the following requirements: 

·        Pentium II, 233 MHz

·        800 X 600 (16 bit)

·        Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP

·        Internet connection (minimum 56Kps required, although we highly recommend a high speed connection such as DSL, cable, or T1)

·        Sufficient memory to run your system software and browser

·        Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater.  Our distance learning courses do not support any “Beta” version of Internet Explorer.

·        Printer for course documentation and Student Affidavit

·        Cookies enabled

·        JavaScript enabled

·        AOL, Earthlink & Compuserve users should minimize their connection window and launch Microsoft Internet Explorer in order to use the standard, support Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
